THE BRIEF
A two-story, 126 m² apartment in Amsterdam's most sought-after residential quarter, purchased by a woman beginning a new chapter following a significant life change - with two grown children, and the clear desire for a home that felt like a genuine fresh start. The original ground-floor layout was logical and worth preserving; upstairs, however, we identified an opportunity: by relocating the master bathroom to the center of the first-floor plan, a new bedroom with its own window could be created - expanding the home's capacity without touching its outer walls.
OUR APPROACH
Our role extended well beyond design. We supervised the construction program in its entirety and managed all procurement - absorbing the complexity of the project so our client could focus on the pleasure of watching her home take shape. That is precisely the experience AXMO aims to deliver: the full transformation, without the burden. Clear, calm communication at every stage kept the project on time and entirely free of unwanted surprises for the client.
The interior language was chosen to reflect exactly what the space needed to become - grounding, warm, and deeply liveable. A palette of earthy beiges, warm greiges, and considered greens, layered with rich natural textures throughout, turned every room into an expression of calm abundance. The result is not simply a beautiful apartment - it is a home that holds its inhabitants with genuine, unhurried comfort from the very first morning.
THE RESULT
The client moved in within eight months of the project start, including the full design phase. Three years later, when she chose to sell, the apartment's interior was cited by the purchasing party as the primary reason for their decision. A beautifully designed home does not just improve how you live in a space - it determines who wants it next, and what they are prepared to pay.
